My name is Jesus Leal Trujillo. I am a data scientist and researcher interested in deep learning for natural language processing, graph neural networks, and spatial data science.

I currently work in the DeFi space and have over 8 years of experience in research and product development. Most of what’s on this site started as notebooks I kept open while debugging — half tutorial, half “I’ll forget this by Tuesday”.

Some of the things I have worked on:

• A new typology of global metropolitan areas based on competitiveness factors — featured in multiple outlooks.
• Evolution of blockchain technology — how patterns of collaboration between developers can shed light on new applications of blockchain.
• Long-running tutorial series on long-range transformers (Longformer, Big Bird) and graph representation learning (node2vec, GNNs).
